Biography of Principal, David C. Brewer Second-generation professional builder with over 25 years of design, engineering, planning and "hands-on" construction experience of a broad spectrum of projects: custom homes, major remodels, subdivision and land development, and light commercial facilities. For Mr. Brewer, design/construction became a love at an early age and is a lifelong avocation as well as a vocation. As a 4H-er at the age of 12, his Home Design and Grounds Beautification Project won top honors at State competition and gained him recognition as a National Honor Member. He built his first home at the age of 18. After years of apprenticeship with custom home builders, architects and land surveyors in 1972, Brewer undertook his first executive custom homes as a design/build general contractor. In 1976 he undertook his first development. A native of Illinois, Brewer received his Bachelor of Science degree(s) with studies in architecture, real estate finance and civil engineering. These studies culminated in a Master of Construction Engineer also from University of Illinois. He has taught Construction Technology at the junior college level and at vocational Job Corps programs, has written articles regarding the home building industry and has written a book, "How to Build Your Dream Home and Not Have It Become a Nightmare." He has had membership in American Institute of Building Designers, National Society of Professional Engineers and the International Congress of Building Officials. He has served on the Land Use Advisory Committee for the County of Orange, California, is currently on the Board of Directors of his Community Homeowners Association, and is on the Board of Directors for the Orange County, California, University of Illinois and Big Ten Alumni Associations.
